Priorities, ALSG.
I’m all for supporting our barristers, pero sana naman, the post-bar party could have been scheduled at a time that doesn’t conflict with the students’ exam week.
We had an exam today, and honestly, ang hirap mag-focus because of the noise from your ingress. Sa chat groups, parang wala nang ibang pinagkakaabalahan ang ALSG kundi the post-bar party. Meanwhile, kami—students who are currently taking our exams—parang nakalimutan na.
And may BAROPS naman to handle bar-related activities, diba? So bakit parang the entire student leadership has been so consumed by the post-bar party, especially during exam week?
I thought student activities were not supposed to be scheduled during the period immediately preceding major examinations. If that rule still applies, then why was this allowed to happen?
Hindi naman unreasonable to expect our student leaders to organize or promote even simple programs that could actually help students prepare for exams. Study sessions, reviewers, academic support, consultations—kahit initiatives man lang that directly address the concerns of the student body. Pero ang nangunguna pa ay isang inuman scheduled during our exam period.
Even when students were affected by the recent storms and flooding, it felt like we had to beg before any concern or initiative was shown. Walang proactive response. We had to ask for it.
Eto ba talaga ang leadership na inelect natin to represent the student body at the highest level?
Again, this isn’t about being against our barristers. They deserve our support, recognition, and celebration. But supporting our barristers should not mean forgetting the students who are currently in the trenches—studying, attending classes, and taking their exams.
Student leadership should be able to do both.
I dare you to do better.
