Why do I keep getting recommended 3.5 over newer models?
Frontier llms keep recommending 3.5 over newer models based on my specs despite having decent specs (MacBook Pro m5 max 128gb memory 4tb ssd) . Currently my set up is :
Qwen 3.5 122b abliterated by huahua for planning
gpt-oss 120b abliterated by huahua for adversarial review
Qwen 3.6 27b MLX for implementation
All working through Opencode harness
Is this really the best set up for agentic coding? My models need to be abliterated because my coding tasks get refused if not.
Despite trying to poke holes, chatgpt and Claude both assure me this is the best setup for me. They say other newer tools like Qwen 3.8 won’t be as good and tolls lots of people are talking about like deep seek harness or kimi are experimental and shouldn’t be incorporated into my workflow
Is this really the best setup for me?
