Need Genuine Advice

I'm an international student planning to study in the UK. I'm 19 years old and I have already completed my A Levels but I hadn't really gotten good grades due to lack of focus and the wrong subject choices. I wanna study in humanities courses mostly because I'm not rlly strong in STEM or Business related subjects. I'm aiming to take a foundation year in the January intake to better understand my strengths however I'm scared that pursuing an English degree will mean I will be unemployed for a very long time as there's alot of stigma around it and everyone says it's an useless degree. I'm not looking for a high paying job but enough to live comfortably. I've also been considering many unis however I'm a bit lost. Currently I'm going to apply to RHUL. However I've heard the city life there is quite dead and that career opportunities are hard to come by due to the location. Should I aim for a Russell Group University or any other universities. Am I picking the wrong degree? I'm very lost right now.

I would appreciate if you let me know your thoughts and gave me some advice!!
