Does DeepSeek V4.1 feel both smarter and dumber at the same time?

I've been using V4.1 Flash for a bit and I can't really decide how I feel about it.

For coding, there are moments where it feels noticeably better than V4.0. It's fast, catches things surprisingly quickly, and sometimes just gets a task right on the first try.

But then on another task it'll make a weird assumption, do something I didn't ask for, or overcomplicate something that should've been simple.

So somehow it feels smarter and dumber at the same time lol.

Maybe it's just the harness/context affecting it more than I thought.

Anyone else noticing this, or has V4.1 been consistently better for you?
