Looking for chances for my son to socialize.

I’ve lived in Oshawa for quite a few years now and have an 18 month old son, and I’m looking for chances for him to interact with other kids his age but also potentially meeting other dads in similar situations. Doesn’t have to be an organized “for kids” situation like the events they have at the library, but I’m open to meeting up somewhere like that first with the babies. I’m into metal music, cars-ish, anime-ish, video games-ish; but not to an obsessive level with any of those one things. Like I’ve gone to anime cons and always felt like “oh yeah I enjoy anime but… not like that” and I’m not at all a competitive gamer or someone that knows the entire history of every car ever made.
I’m just looking for someone in a similar situation with kids that I can introduce my child to and also be able to have an actual conversation with the parent.
I realize I may come across as a bit of a dick in this post but I don’t really know how to phrase it otherwise sorry
