My bf told me he could tell I'm not over my ex

We've been dating for almost a year now and I got dumped by my ex close to two years ago. Since then, I've lost all drive and meaning in life. I no longer want to get back together with him but it just broke something in me. He was my FP and the FP I was most attached to ever.

My bf is my current FP. I love him but I would say I'm setting up more boundaries and giving both him and myself enough space to breathe without being too clingy like I was with my ex. But he hit me with "you only don't want to get back together with (ex) because you know it'll never be the same. I know you'll never love me as much as you loved him"

I picked up smoking and substance abuse as a way to cope after I got dumped and it hasn't gone away. And it is true I haven't went a single day without thinking about my ex... but I also do love my current partner. I don't know what to do.
