First trip ever to Mud Island Park

This place was so cool and my kids learned so much while we were there just by seeing all the signs and stuff around!

I’d never been here before and I guess it’s abandoned and people stopped going? But my kids and I thought it was really interesting and fun even with less amenities. Why did the people abandon it?

That pool would be amazing to have as a public pool for the city to have for people. Was that ever a thing!

Like sure it’s insanely hot and would’ve be nicer if it had more trees and restrooms but couldn’t the city do that pretty easily to make it better for people to visit?

Forgive me, I’m from Florida, so I don’t know the legends of this place and why this happened other than I guess just people stopped wanting to go to public parks or the city had to put their limited funds in other places 🤷‍♀️
