How do you fill in a crack between textured ceiling and wall?

Sucks you cant share pictures. I took crown molding off in my bathroom. I have a half inch crack between ceiling and wall. Ceiling is textured so i dont want mess with it. How do i fill the crack without it recracking later? I have joint compound and the white mesh tape. AI recommend not to use premixed joint compound. Seen videos using brown paper tape and wedging it in the corner but that would lap into the ceiling.
