How do i ask a soft spoken guy out

I want to ask a guy on a date and Ive never asked anyone out in my life, I find him adorable and very attractive. I dont have any idea if hes not into women or has a gf or something. We are roughly the same age in mid 20s.

I'm a pretty vocal woman and even if i try to whisper i surely am heard, very high volume person 😭 proper opposites. I like his calm demeanour and sweet way he talks to everyone. Very warm but not too chatty. Oh and we are international students. Only known each other for a month or so.

Should I just ask him direct, or say "Hey I like some of the talks we have, do you want to get coffee together?"

idk if dont want to make things awkward. Idk if he has any interest, we joke around and laugh together usually. But that's no indication of any interest, shruggie. Advice, anyone? If you are soft spoken would you rather a woman direct or more subtle?
