What if the reality we experience is only one possibility within infinite consciousness?

Perspective

We tend to think of reality as something completely fixed and objective, and ourselves as separate individuals moving through it. But when we become deeply present, something becomes apparent: everything we call “reality” is being experienced within consciousness. Thoughts, perceptions, emotions, identities, circumstances, even our sense of time and self all appear within this infinite field of awareness.

Perhaps what we call reality is therefore a kind of hallucination of infinite consciousness, not in the sense that nothing exists, but in the sense that consciousness is constantly generating and experiencing a particular possibility of existence. And if all being is interconnected, if there is an infinite intelligence behind existence, then even what seems random or separate may be part of a greater unfolding that we cannot yet perceive.

This is why becoming more conscious can completely transform the life we experience. As consciousness expands, the “hallucination” changes because the one experiencing it has changed. You begin to perceive possibilities that were previously invisible. You can imagine a life that your former level of consciousness couldn't even conceive of. How could we live a higher life if we aren't even conscious of its possibility?

Maybe awakening is not about escaping reality, but becoming conscious enough to experience a deeper one. First expand consciousness. Then the possibilities you can perceive, imagine and embody expand with it. And perhaps this is part of what it means to live from God, from infinite intelligence, from the awareness in which everything appears.

The life we experience may be far more open-ended than we normally realize.
