Hey! So as the title says, a friend of mine found a Pink Foot Goliath Tarantula in the trash while cleaning the fair grounds in our city after a large terrarium trade fair. The Animal is alive and well as far as I can tell.

I have a friend who is very interested in spiders in general and always wanted to have a pet spider like this.

She's completely new to spider keeping and terrariums in general. I have some Geckos and a Bearded dragon, so I have some experience in setting up terrariums and caring for those animals, but I've got no clue about spiders.

I have read a bit online but not all sources are always up to date so I want to get the opinions you guys.

Please help us so we can properly set up a comfy and appropriate living space for her.

From what I understand we're gonna need:

\-A tank at least 60x40x40cm in size

\-A heating mat fixed to the side of the enclosure as well as a thermostat to keep the temperature at around 24-26°C at daytimes and a bit lower at night.

\-A thermometer/hygrometer to measure temperature and humidity (Humidity should be around 80-90%)

\-Some lights to simulate a day/night rhythm

\-Substrate (Please give me some recommendations on what you're using) at least 15cm high so she can dig.

\-A cork hide

\-A water dish

\-Insects about half her leg span size as food.

Can you recommend specific tanks, lighting etc?

Is there anything we should avoid at all costs?

Thanks in advance for your help
