RESPECT IS NOT CONDITIONAL
Many women view phrases like "Teri maa aake mujhe satisfy karti hai" ("your mom satisfies me") or "Teri maa behen nahi hai kya?" ("don't you have a mother or sister?") as sharp, feminist comeback lines.
In reality, both fall completely short of actual gender equality.
In the first scenario, insults aimed at a man's bad behavior almost always target his female relatives. Why is a mother's reputation constantly used as cheap leverage in an argument? Why is the insult never "Tera baap mujhe satisfy karta hai"?
This happens because of the unfair expectation that women must always be pure, quiet, and sanskari. Because society puts family honor entirely on a woman's shoulders, bringing up someone's mom is treated as the ultimate low blow. That only keeps the old idea of controlling women alive.
In the second scenario, relying on family ties to demand basic respect is completely bullshit. If a man needs to picture his own mom or sister just to treat a woman like a human being, his respect is fake and conditional.
Women deserve basic dignity and safety simply because they are human, not because they happen to belong to some man.
When we only value a woman based on being someone's daughter, sister, or mother, we leave all the power in men's hands. It lets men decide who gets respect based on personal connection, instead of accepting that women deserve basic human respect all on their own.
