ktm 390 adventure x or adventure r for a beginner rider?

I'm looking at a first bike, I was originally looking at the 650-750cc naked bike class but my dad would rather me have a slower bike and insurance is really high since I'm so young. We went to a dealer today and my favourite picks was the ktm 390 lineup, beginner friendly, cool looking, high tech, etc. I like the duke but its not nearly as comfortable or practical as the adventure line. They have a 2025 adventure x there on sale for like 1400 off, brand new, but I am wondering if I should spend the extra and get the adventure r which is higher tech, more rider aids and stuff like that, plus the adjustable suspension is nice. I'm not sure which I should do, I am leaning more towards the adventure x as its so cheap. I come from dirtbiking but idk if that changes anything.
