Do you guys think Robotnik finally paid the Chaotix in Sonic Forces?

In Sonic Heroes, the Chaotix free Robotnik after he was taken prisoner by Metal Sonic. When Vector asks about payment, Robotnik says he'll pay them once he takes over the world. Well, in Sonic Forces he (mostly) takes over the world. Do you think he finally paid them after that, just to be petty?
