Passive Aggressive Nurses

I absolutely hate when I’m giving report to a floor nurse and reading off labs. Or giving other general information and the nurses are passive aggressive as fuck.

I told one nurse that my patient had a potassium of 5.2. The patient was going to a tele floor. The nurse said to me “you are ok with this potassium level?” Yes bitch! What do you want me to do for a 5.2 potassium. It isn’t even a critical value. I explained in a professional way that it his isn’t a critical lab value, we aren’t going to correct a K of 5.2. And then she says “do you think you should call the doctor and see if he’s aware?”

It’s like they pick apart anything to avoid taking report or getting the patient. She wouldn’t even allow me to finish report until the physician was called. And he thought I was joking lol.
