Shooting expired film on a point and shoot

Hi! I recently got some Kodak gold 200 (code dx: 412503) that was marked as expired. One website says it was discontinued in 2001, and lots of people say to push the f-stop up once for every decade its been expired. I would do this, but I'm on a point and shoot camera. What should I do to try to get it to look correct/normal?
