Accepted permenant role, now pregnant

I just won a permenant position in the APS as an external applicant. I have had a positive pregnancy test today, does permenancy allow me access to paid leave? Or do I need to complete the 12 months employment before being eligible? I fortunately still have a state govy permenant position I can stay in to get leave, just means I will forfeit the APS position..
