Rip my first run

Played a lot of xcom, got this game and figured in for a penny, in for a pound. Kicked off my first run on expert beskar.

We’re chugging along, with a few close calls but absolutely no deaths. >!Aside from our unfortunate tutorial friend.!<

Finally do the >!jedi retrieval mission for the plague information shit!< doesnt go great, and my hawks gets to injuries. “Well thats fine” I figure, hawks can sit out a mission and be back to normal.

I have forgotten that I put off a critical story mission. Hakws barely limps back into his base, and decides now is a perfect time to raid >!the big drill ore place… I don’t remember the planets name.!<

Make it pretty far, until I need to >!hold the center of the security room for four turns.!< I was doing so well, then reinforcements of >!9 coil members!< come blitzing in. Took out some of them, but was unprepared for the surging dicking down I was about to receive.

In a incredibly unfortunate twist of fate, they seemed to exclusively target my hawks, a gunslinging medic, and promptly destroyed him in one turn. >!I was but one turn from being able to presumably escape up the lift.!<

Rest in peace Jotun Hawks, Trick, Cly, and Jae. I like to imagine the rest of zero company was able to lay low and escape the conflict.

Hopefully I will better manage myself next run. A problem for tomorrow.
