On my 10th? re-read

I’m not sure exactly when it happened, but this series has become one of my very favorite ones. Over the years, I usually reread it at least once, sometimes twice, if I’m not doing well mentally and need to retreat into the comforting fantasy that is the world of Mercy Thompson.

I have a handful of other series I usually give a yearly reread to as well, but something about these books (usually in tandem with Alpha and Omega) really feel like home.

I used to read them a lot when I was hanging out at my family’s house, and I’m now the only one left after they moved across the US a couple years ago. I’m sitting here on book 3 of my current revisit, and it almost makes me feel like I’m with my family again.

It also feels like putting a warm blanket over my life when I’m feeling scared of the unknown, or anxious about my circumstances.

This is kind of a ramble, but these books mean a lot to me and I’m really glad they exist.
