New user advice!

Hey guys, it's gonna be my first ever Nintendo console, and I'm primarily buying it because of Pokémon! Super excited because it's gonna be my first official Pokémon game. I played a lot with ROM hacks, hehe. Any advice for a first-time owner?

Getting it in deep blue with the Pokémon Scarlet game for 100 USD.
