Buy a complete collection, or buy sealed, or rip?
So this is just a poll to see what would you do?
Assume Mr A, Mr B and Mr C each has $15,000 to spend on Pokemon for a period of 15 years. Assume there is no inflation or interest rate change, so Pokemon ETB price stays the same for 15 years.
- Mr A will just go to marketplace (or local show) and buy himself a complete Pokémon card collection. The collection has 3,000 high value cards (including SIR, IR, Ultra rare… from $5-$400) and seller gives Mr A 7,000 bulk common, uncommon, rare… cards for free. All cards are organized nicely in binders and ranging from year 2000 - now. The collection has $20,000 market value but Mr A got it at discount for $15,000
- Mr B will use $15,000 to buy sealed and rip. Assume each year, there are 4 Pokemon release, Mr B will buy only ETB and rip. Assume each ETB is $50, he buy 5 ETBs each release. Each year he will buy 20 ETB and with $15,000 , he can buy and rip for 15 years to make his own collection (Math 20x50x15=15,000)
- Mr C will buy 300 ETBs total during 15 years and keep them sealed.
Would you do as Mr A, Mr B or Mr C?
