Hyundai refused a test drive - told to come back when actually buying

I have been looking into the market to get a SUV for a family of three with a little bubba.

Test drove tesla YL and zeekr 7x and was impressed how well made EV cars are these days.

Realized I might want more space in the car (I am quite stressed about space with my current coupe sedan) and Santa fe might be a good candidate.

So I went to Hyundai dealership the other day for a test drive and told them I would potentially purchase in 4 months.

And they told me I cannot test drive then as things will change a lot in 4 months of time so there is no point of doing a test drive now????

They were happy to show me the car so I could sit in it but said I could come back for test drive when I am actually closer to buying one

Mercedes, Zeekr and Tesla all of them let me test drive regardless of how many months later or even just drive out of curiosity.

Hyundai.. let me test drive ...
