My friend wants to be put into foster care but we dk how to help her

Hi, so… my friend (15F) has been having a lot of trouble at home for a while now. CPS has been contacted a few times, but so far it hasn’t really gone anywhere beyond her being connected with a social worker.

For context, her family has been physically and verbally abusive toward her, and it’s gotten really bad to the point where she’s had to run away from home a handful of times 🫩🫩🫩

Now, her mom is apparently willing to let her enter foster care, but says we (me, my friend, and her bf) need to find someone who is willing and able to take her in.

I lowkey don’t know where to start with this 😭 Do any of you know how the process of finding a placement actually works? Can a specific person/family volunteer to take her in, or does some big-time person have to arrange the placement themselves?+ is there any way for us to meet/get in contact with people who are interested in fostering or is it all handled through formal meetings/applications?

Any advice on what steps we should take would be rlly appreciated 😛🫶
