Why does Christ seemingly rebuke Yahweh in Matthew 7:9-11? In search of an orthodox perspective

I’ll just keep this really short and simply provide the verses.

“Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”
— Matthew 7:9–11 (KJV)

Which seems to be a direct reference to Numbers 21, in which God (being the wonderful forgiving being that he is) decides that the Israelites complaining about having to eat tasteless unidentifiable food every day is enough to warrant death by snakes.

Seems reasonable.

“And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.”
— Numbers 21:6 (KJV)

Make it make sense.

The more I read the New Testament the more confused I become as to how this is meant to be the same God.

Very much struggling with Orthodoxy at the moment.

Any thoughts are welcome.

God bless ♥️
