26M | Italy/Europe | Looking for my favourite person (wife edition)
Assalamu alaikum,
I think most of us on here already know what we should be looking for on paper.
Age, location, faith, attraction, family plans... tick enough boxes and technically you should be compatible.
But then you actually talk to someone and realise there's a whole other part nobody can put into bullet points.
Do I actually look forward to hearing from you? Can we talk without it feeling like I'm completing an application form? Can we be serious when it matters but also laugh about completely stupid things?
That's probably the part I'm here hoping to find.
Someone where the intention is clearly marriage, but getting to know each other still feels... normal. A little exciting even. Not like we need to decide whether we're soulmates before we've exchanged five messages lol.
Anywayyy, before I turn this into another philosophical discussion...
I'm 26, Pakistani and currently living in Italy (Germany might be next depending on work).
I'm around 183 cm / 6ft, slim, brown eyes, black hair, short beard, tanned complexion. I work as a Health & Safety Engineer, which sounds considerably more exciting when I don't explain how much paperwork is involved.
I speak English, Italian and Urdu, plus enough German to survive a conversation (always keeps me wondering whether I used the correct article)
Religiously, I try to pray my five daily prayers and would like Islam to be a part of our home. I'm still learning, still improving, and definitely not going to pretend I'm perfect.
I don't drink, smoke, vape or use drugs.
My bad habits are more along the lines of ruining my sleep schedule, overthinking and occasionally starting a new hobby before finishing the previous one.
I'm looking for someone around 19~31, preferably in Europe due to time zone and also because I would eventually like to meet in real life and not remain virtual pen pals forever.
Ethnicity doesn't matter to me, and I'm completely open to reverts. I like the idea of a multicultural family. Different languages, food, traditions... children replying to everyone in whichever language gets them out of trouble fastest.
Also, no polygamy for me. One wife is enough responsibility, thank you very much.
Personality-wise, I'm usually a little reserved at first. Not shy exactly, just observing and figuring you out (in a normal way, not a serial-killer way).
Once I'm comfortable, I talk a lot more, become affectionate, sarcastic and become more human haha
I like people who have depth to them, someone with whom I can talk about childhood, weird fears, what you want from life, what makes you feel loved... but also ligh-hearted banter and memesss
Both sides of coin are important.
As for interest I'm into reading, psychology, philosophy, writing, languages, travelling, nature, cooking, photography, sports and gaming.
Some days I want to disappear somewhere new for the weekend. Other days I prefer being a homebody, binging on Netflix or picking up a new book while sipping on my favorite cup of coffee.
As a husband, I think I'd be somewhere between old-school romantic and modern partner.
I like the idea of protecting, providing and taking care of my wife, but I don't think that means she has to give up her ambitions or become responsible for everything at home.
I've lived alone for years. I can cook, clean and do laundry.
Sometimes you cook, sometimes I cook, sometimes we do it together... and sometimes we order food because peace in the marriage is more important than proving a point.
I also like the small thoughtful romantic stuff because love is not just grand gestures but also remembering small things, random hugs, planning thoughtful dates.. making sure affection doesn't disappear once we're married and life becomes busy.
I'm painfully aware that we all make mistakes including myself, so I'm not looking for someone who is a saint. People go through difficult things. What matters to me is honesty, self-awareness and who you are now regardless of your past whether it was drinking or sex outside marriage, that is between you and Allah.
Physically, I usually find myself attracted to women with a slim or proportionate build, but attraction is weird and doesn't always follow a list.
I'd rather exchange pictures fairly early if we get along, instead of talking for a month and accidentally creating imaginary versions of each other.
Anyway, I think that's enough about me before this turns into an autobiography. If anything peaked your curiosity come say hi without overthinking that you have to commit to another person in first few messages, we may or may not be a match but lets not decide it already before talking :)
