Crack asriel knight theory.

Dess died in the shelter on “that day” nobody believes asriel or kris about what it really was so Kris represses it and asriel just doesn’t mention it. However inside the shelter a dustner of Dess is formed and eventually asriel is lured back into the shelter(probably out of guilt by Eram) and he realizes Dess is “alive” however “Darkners made in the image of a lightner can only exist in very specific darknesses.”

Asriel the roaring knight has been trying to start the roaring so the entire world can be covered in the darkness to bring back Dess. Kris is in on it because they’re helping their brother bring back Dess. Do you wanna know the fucked up part. Dess is also Ralsei’s mom, the dustner Dess specifically, that’s why he resembles asriel because asriel the knight(someone who even a king bows to) is the father of the prince of darkness. Ralsei aged quickly because of fountain time bs and his special existence circumstances are what make him “an impossibility.” That’s also why he knows what a dustner is despite it likely not being part of the prophecy.

Asriel has the antlers in his knight form because it’s to mock him, the golden boy who followed the prophecy reduced to a pawn over someone else over his love over the “antlers” on his helmet the antlers that suspiciously resemble puppet master thingys. Ralsei ran away from the shelter and to castle town, one of Asriel’s first abandoned attempts to make a dark world for Dess by making it out of pure darkness.
