Is it possible to have anger/trauma from displacement snd coming from a marginalised society?
Hey all
So I was born in the west to parents who are from a 3rd world nation that is struggling pretty bad right now.
We moved around every few years and when I turned 12 we moved to the middle east which is where my life went kind of down hill psychologically.
My dad worked in the medical field and as a result he worked with lower class deprived migrant workers from my country who I was forced to engage with as a young boy.
I have many memories of people from my ethnic country struggling and pretty much being 3rd class citizens. I have countless experiences of men telling me of their deprived rural backgrounds and the issues they faced.
I now live in the west in a fairly upper middle class life however I no longer feel like I can relate to what most young people here grew up as.
All I can remember is the 3rd world problems people from my ancestral land face. Because I've spent half my life there I feel more attached to refugees even though technically i am not one.
As a result I sometimes despise people raised in the west. Does anyone else deal with this? This is what I grew up around and lived to see.
