Ways to diversify (or add time on) your degree
I know so many people who came in with an AA or a bunch of dual enrollment, AP, AICE, IB, etc. credits that it took years off their degree program. Though after being here at UF for a bit, you may not be ready to cut the time off early! Here are ways to stay a little longer that actually add value to your degree!
- Minor - A minor can help you learn another skill or set of knowledge that you believe can help you. Choose a minor that will truly support or skillset, not just something random to add courses.
- Certificate - UF offers certificates that can also supplement your learning. These classes can again help you learn another skill that is truly useful to you. They range from creative disciplines to AI use in your desired field.
- Immersion - There are immersion courses that may be one credit that give you real experience in your field of choice!
- Combination Degree Program - These programs allow you to take a couple of graduate courses during your undergrad degree. Note that this is mainly an option if you plan to do a Masters degree since you will be required to at least apply to the actual grad program. Also note that if you have Bright Futures, grad classes cost more than undergrad so it will not cover the entire class.
