In the picture provided, the left and right handles are giving me some trouble.

**LEFT HANDLE (HOT):**
The handle just keeps spinning and will only *almost* catch when I attempt to turn the water off, but just keeps turning and then almost catching and repeats. Because of this, I have had to shut the water off at the wall whenever I need to turn the hot water on or off. I have tightened the screw going into the handle as tight as it will go, but that doesn't seem to be the issue. It is also leaking where the handle assembly connects to the main faucet body.

**RIGHT HANDLE (COLD):**
The cold handle sprays water from where the handle rod goes into the handle assembly that connects to the main faucet body. Attempting to tighten the screw going into the handle doesn't seem to do anything.

I'm not very experienced with plumbing. I've replaced a few water heaters, installed some bathroom sinks and dishwashers, and done some PVC replacement under cabinets, but that's about the extent of my plumbing experience.

My thought is that there may be a washer, O-ring, or gasket that has worn out or broken. This faucet hasn't really been maintained since we bought the house about seven years ago, and based on how the previous owners handled repairs, I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't had any maintenance for quite a while before we purchased the house either.

Any help getting this fixed would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping it's something I can tackle myself rather than having to call a plumber or replacing the whole faucet as we love the original brass.

I leave for a month at the beginning of October, and I'm the only one in the family who feels comfortable enough using the shutoff valve at the wall to turn the hot water on and off. So I'm hoping I can get this repaired before then.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
