Went on a first date with a girl today and I’m confused by what happened afterward.
The date seemed to go really well. At one point she actually asked me how I thought the date was going and rated it an 8/10 herself. We talked about doing a second date and she came up with ideas like a picnic or going for a drive. She even mentioned things that could potentially be a third date. She also told me she’s a night owl and usually stays up pretty late. About 1.5 hours after the date ended, I texted her saying I had a great time and would love to plan a second date if she was interested. She responded about 5 hours later, saying she had a great time too and that she “would be down for another.” About 30 minutes later, I replied something along the lines of, “Let me know when you’re free and what your schedule looks like and we can plan something.” And then… silence.
It’s now been about 6 hours. I know 6 hours isn’t objectively that long, and I’m trying not to overthink it, but I’m confused because she explicitly said she’d be down for another date. If you’re interested in someone, wouldn’t you generally want to start figuring out when the next date is? Am I reading too much into the silence, or is this something I should pay attention to? I’m genuinely looking for outside perspective because the change from talking about multiple future dates to not responding at all is throwing me off.
