Snail hasn’t moved in 2 days but doesn’t smell

I got my first ever nerite snail for my algae infested betta tank 2 days ago.

When I first brought him home (acclimated temp) he moved for about an hour and then just sat (betta didn’t bother him)

After 24 hours I removed him from the tank just incase and placed him in a cup of tank water. No movement after 48 hours

I’ve heard they have an unmistakable odor when dead, but when I smell him, he smells like nothing.

Unsure if I’m watching a dead snail, or if it’s somehow still alive.
