telling people to stfu?
i had a MMC a little over a month ago. i intentionally told very few people. it was my first pregnancy and miscarriage, and i just wasn’t ready to share.
i was on vacation w/family this last week and the annoying “hurry up and have a baby” conversation came up. not just once... the second time was a loooooong drawn out thing. telling us to hurry. showings us the cute baby shoes they would buy. i had a little bit to drink and it took all of me not to ruin the night for everyone (i was so fucking annoyed) by blurting out that i had just had a miscarriage. i know this person was coming from a good place, but it dug into a wound i thought had healed. for context, i’m very much a “everything happens for a reason” person and once my hormones went back to normal post miscarriage, i felt very at peace with everything - or at least i thought so.
how do you guys cope w/ not being triggered or is that what comes with the territory of a loss?
