Dating where pickings are slim

how do y’all deal with dating and finding a partner in places where there aren’t many gay people? i know exactly one man who likes men nearby that is a decent person, like actually boyfriend material, and my age, and he is unfortunately my manager’s manager. i moved here a year ago and feel like im going nuts. i’ve had a handful of grindr hookups, one date, and that’s it. not many people to make friends with i can relate to on that level and even less to date. i have a year and a half left here before i can move somewhere else.
