Looking for a complete upgrade from the TRN BA5 – Budget $250

Hi everyone,

I bought the TRN BA5 about 5 years ago and have really enjoyed them. Unfortunately, I lost them a few days ago at my office, so I'm now looking for a replacement.

Rather than simply buying another BA5, I’d like to use this opportunity to get a genuine upgrade in sound quality and technical performance.

What I really loved about the BA5 was its detail retrieval, clarity, instrument separation, imaging and revealing presentation. I don't want an overly warm or bass-heavy IEM that sacrifices details.

My budget is around $250, and these are the IEMs I'm currently considering:

CCA Hydro

Kiwi Ears Quintet

TRN BA15

KZ Sonata

I'm not necessarily looking for something that sounds identical to the BA5. I want something that retains the BA5's revealing nature while giving me a clear upgrade in overall performance.

If there are better options under $250 that I'm overlooking, please recommend them too.
