What books are great as audiobooks

I’ve tried audiobooks before (about three) and just could not get into hearing someone talk to me when I could just read. But a few weeks ago, I was listening to one of my favourite podcasts business wars and they were talking about crypto and no mention of Sam bankman (I remembered him because I’d watched a few documentaries about him) I was curious if they had their version of the story and they had none. I thought to search Sam’s name on Spotify to see if there were other podcasts about him and I found one!!! It turned out to be an audiobook channel (sorry not sure what they are called when they just play 9 hours of a book) called talking books. I became obsessed with the book and listened to it over and over for about two weeks. I kept thinking to myself maybe I am into audiobooks, I just had not found my genre yet. So I thought of another autobiography (that I read many years ago) it’s about Lance Armstrong, called Cycle of lies. I got an audible subscription and now listening to that. It’s really still great but nothing close to the prose in Going Infinite.

Anyway, this got me thinking that maybe I struggle listening to fiction as my autistic brain might need to read fiction to make sense of stuff and maybe easier to consume autobiographies. Made me wonder if anyone else has preferred genres that are easier to read and that I can try out besides biographies. The next one I’m reading is about this tennis guy, I’m not a tennis person but I just love biographies.
