I Don’t Know What I’m Doing

I just bought the new Halloween game on steam and downloaded it to my old laptop. It appears that my laptop doesn’t have the requirements needed to run the game properly. I’ve tried adjusting settings, but there’s still an extreme amount of lag. Do I have any other options without having to spend $1000 on a gaming card or a new computer??
