Some notes on Juwan Johnson

Juwan Johnson has been gaining a ton of buzz within the fantasy community in the past week or two. Especially with so many unknowns like the Pitts situation, Bowers going out, Kraft returning from a major injury, etc.

Some quick facts:

-Juwan Johnson quietly finished 2025 as TE8 with 77 receptions and 889 receiving yards

-He and Saints QB Tyler Shough were college teammates in 2019 when Johnson transferred to the University of Oregon

-They were roommates on college road trips

-He was a WR in college and transitioned to TE in the NFL in 2021

-Sunday is his 30th birthday against a soft Lions defense missing some of their key defenders. Johnson was born on September 13, 1996. Look for Shough to target Johnson early and often. He probably wants to him with a birthday touchdown

-During this past offseason Tyler Shough and Juwan Johnson shared a San Diego house with their families. They further built their chemistry through training, film study sessions and knowing each other’s daily routines

-Jordan Tyson is on IR and Juwan is almost assuredly the Saints second pass catcher until further notice

-Kellen Moore employs a fast pace of plays. This means more offensive opportunities for JJ to eat

Juwan should have a great season!
