By the catholic church rules, how many hours should a person be fasting prior to receiving the body of jesus in the mass?

As far as i know if a person participating in the mass, and want to receive the body and blood of jesus, the person should not have eaten like few hours prior to that, this is called the eucharist fasting? And by how many hours should a person have stopped eating? And what about drinking water? Should this rule be followed on every mass we attend? Even if everyday?

What about after the mass? Can a person eat straight after the mass ends? Or should there also be a time with no food after the mass?
