Flight seat dispute. In Indian Airline

RANT/VENT 😤

So yesterday, I was traveling from Bangalore to Jaipur, When I reached my seat, I saw a couple, probably in their late 50s, sitting there. The lady was in my window seat, and the man was sitting right beside her.

I went up to them and asked them to move. They asked, "Would you mind sitting in the aisle seat instead?" I said, "No," and they started explaining that it was their first flight and that they wanted to look outside and enjoy the view. I replied, "I understand, but I paid extra for this window seat, and I won't be taking the aisle seat."

The lady still wasn't getting up from my seat, so I called a flight attendant. She had to explain to them that there's a thing called pre-booking and that I had specifically paid for that seat. Even then, the couple said, "Okay, but please ask her to take the aisle seat instead." The flight attendant replied, "She paid extra for the window seat, so she'll b sitting there."

After giving me all sorts of dirty looks for about five minutes, the lady finally moved. When I sat down, she said, "Didn't your parents teach you how to respect elders? Aaj kal ke logone thoda bhi tameez nahi he (she murmered)"

I looked at her and said, "I didn't disrespect you in any way, but if you felt that way, I'm sorry."

She replied, "You must travel all the time. All I wanted was to look outside."

I simply said, "Okay," and didn't engage in any further conversation until we landed in Bhubaneswar.

I mean it felt unfair first you won't book a seat then you won't vacate the seat and if confronted you'll tell your parents didn't teach you how to respect other ? What sort of behaviour is this ? 😯
