Over the last 4 weeks so much has changed in our relationship. He lost his job, his living circumstances have changed, making intimacy and time together limited. This has put a strain on things, maybe more so on my side but I'm finding it difficult to process and adjust all at once. Are things destined to fail?

This doesn't immediately read as a yes, but it does show that it can become trapped in a difficult pattern if the underlying dynamic represented by The Devil remains.

4 of Wands shows genuine potential. Stability that I've been struggling with, connection, and two people having something meaningful enough to build on.

The Empress shows the bond has emotional and sensual substance. There is affection, attraction, attachment, and potential for the relationship to grow rather than simply burn itself out. It can also show one person investing a great deal of love and emotional energy into the connection, likely me.

Knight of Swords is where the instability is. Sudden changes, rushing forward and then reacting sharply, difficult conversations, impulsive decisions, and acting from the head when emotions become uncomfortable. It can make the relationship feel as though it keeps being thrown off course very quickly. Which is exactly what I've been dealing with.

The Devil bottom of deck shows there is a very powerful attachment here, but it comes with entanglement, sexual intensity, temptation, fear, secrecy, inability to completely let go, repeating behaviour, and knowing a situation is complicated while still feeling drawn back into it.

Please help with my understanding and struggles here 🫶
