I’ve loved my X-T1 for years and still genuinely enjoy shooting with it. Lately, though, I can’t stop thinking about the X100VI.

I know the price difference won’t magically make my photos better. What attracts me is having everything in one compact camera, along with the higher resolution and extra freedom to crop. Being able to grab one camera and walk out the door sounds pretty appealing.

I mainly shoot landscapes, street photography, and portraits. I’d also like to publish an A4 photo book someday. I know the X-T1’s 16MP sensor already gives me more than enough resolution for an A4 print, so I’m not worried about the final print quality. Still, the cropping flexibility of the X100VI’s 40MP sensor is incredibly tempting, especially for street photography and situations where I cannot frame everything perfectly in the moment.

I’m staying with Fujifilm, and I’m specifically deciding between keeping my X-T1 and buying the X100VI. I’m not looking for recommendations for other brands, systems, or models such as the X-T5.

Would you keep fighting with the X-T1, or take the plunge and get the X100VI? I’d especially like to hear from anyone who has used both.

Keep shooting with my X-T1, or finally buy the X100VI?
