(TW: brief sh mention) I think I just realised why I binge
Yello’.
I think I just realised why I binge. I read through some posts here about binging and a comment about SNS and PNS and something kinda clicked.
I’m in DBT for self harm. I’ve been *wound* free for 8 weeks. My therapist has been praising that. But I also realised I’ve also been binging heavily all throughout those weeks. I’ve been thinking it’s because of my adhd meds that I’ve been binging, now that my body’s gotten used to them or something. Yesterday was one of the worst binges I’ve ever had and it scared me ngl.
Looked up medications for BED and the only one (besides glp-1s but I don’t trust that + those are really fucking expensive)used is vyvanse so I started panicking because I can’t afford to switch from concerta to vyvanse (60+$ a month here w a prescription🖕🏼 which is 1/3 of what I have left after just rent)
but anyways. I read a comment mentioning SNS and PNS and how eating, I can’t explain it as well as the og commenter, is a form of emotional regulation.
So I haven’t been 8 weeks self harm free. i’ve just switched to binging more. And that to me is way worse. Idk. As I’m writing this I’m realising it might be more of a journal entry thing and not a reddit post but I kinda wanna hear if anyone knows if this sounds legit? I guess? I don’t know. I’m just sick of food and everything else going on and stressed about gaining weight back. Again. I worked so hard to go from bmi 31(? might’ve been 32. I was in the obesitas class but I was genuinely way healthier at that weight than I am now) to 20 and now the scale is steadily going up and that makes me feel worse and thus, trigger more binges.
