Ezzard Charles has a much better chance at beating Marciano if he had Ray Arcel in his corner.
Ray Arcel got beaten and he quit training in May 1953, Ezzard Charles won a fight that month. After that Ezzard dropped 2 straight fights, he then eonfights in a row for the 2 Marciano fights. Ezzard went the distance in the first fight and was shown cappable of hurting him as he famously split Marciano's nose in the 2nd fight. After Marciano he had some wars with Fringe contenders and eventually started losing to domestic level guys. From what I read he was like Ali towards the end. We have seen heavyweights start to lose once they lose a great trainer. Joe Louis when he lost Jack Blackburn, Deontay Wilder when he fired Breland, Wladimir Klitschko when Manny Steward died. Tyson Fury when he dropped Peter Fury. Who is to say he doesnt beat Marciano on a split decision?
