Reminder About The Good In Collecting.

I never post on Reddit, usually just read, but I had a great experience on CollX I wanted to share.

Last week, I finally turned on “For Sale” on a bunch of my cards. For years, I hesitated selling my 1999-2000 Pokemon cards. I had this weird mental block, partially about selling nostalgia/memories. Partially because I read Reddit, and see the trash flipping/cash focused crowd. The thought of my childhood memory cards going to that? I couldn’t deal with that.

Finally, got myself there, and got a sale pretty quick, Base Set 2 Gyarados. Buyer was nice. I included a free Base Set Farfetch’d, and a thank you note, for trusting me and being my first buyer. Fast forward to yesterday, buyer sent me a link to a video, of him with his daughter, can’t be more than 9-10… Thanking me for the Farfetch’d and smiling, saying she loves it.

It made my night. That’s the kind of joy and excitement about collecting, TCG specifically. Happened right here on CollX, so just wanted to share the positive story!
