I’m 16, studying Commerce, and starting my journey into Finance 📈
This is my first post here, so I thought I’d start by sharing something I’m genuinely interested in.
I’m currently a higher-secondary Commerce student, and I’ve become really interested in Finance, Financial Analysis, Business Analysis, and Investment Banking.
I’m still at the beginning. I don’t have a finance degree, years of experience, or a fancy internship.
But I’ve started learning the fundamentals:
• 📊 Financial statement analysis
• 📈 Excel & financial modelling
• 💻 SQL & data analytics
• 🤖 AI tools for finance and productivity
• 💰 Business & investment concepts
• 📚 Accounting, Economics & Finance
One thing I’ve realized is that you don’t have to wait until college to start building useful skills.
My current goal is simple:
Learn → Practice → Build projects → Get better → Eventually work in finance.
I’m planning to document what I learn along the way—both the things that work and the things I struggle with.
If you're already working in finance, studying finance, or learning these skills yourself:
What is ONE skill you wish you had started learning earlier?
I’d genuinely love to hear your advice. 🙌
