This is take #2 posting for help with my living room. I thought it might be helpful to see the room bare first. I also added a picture of all the decor I have around the house.

The door to a bedroom in the middle of the living room throws me off so much. I have tried the couch facing the opposite direction and I did like it, but I had a lot of complaints about it being too tight of a squeeze to enter.

Our couch is large. It’s not the most appropriate couch for the layout, but it’s extremely comfortable and my kids can destroy it for all I care. I’m going to wait to buy a new one when they’re not so feral.

I would love to utilize what I have OR I’m open to buying something if I can visualize the “right” layout. I’m struggling to even know where to start at this point because I just hate everything I’ve tried and my family&friends are giving me side eye, like I’m insane for completely rearranging my home once a month.

My decor taste is some sort of combination of these words: eclectic MCM Americana Nancy meyers cottage. I love a cozy, colorful look and feeling. I would appreciate any tips or opinions before I go crazy and sell our house with everything and everyone in it.

Desperate for help with weird house layout and living room decor.
