AITA for refusing to host an event for my 18th birthday?

No A-holes here

Sorry if this is all over the place, its my first time asking for advice on here and english is also not my first language. Also sorry if the term asshole doesnt seem to fit at first, i will explain why i believe the term works in a bit.

So for a tiny bit of context, 18th birthdays are like a VERY BIG deal where im from and its usually pretty big events at restaurants or rented bars or stuff. Im turning 18 in like 2 months and my family has been pestering me about what place i want to rent (and even trying to rent a place behind my back) and i just... dont want any of that. I think its a waste of time and money, i have no one to invite (no classmates invited me(so i have no one to invite, whats a bday without guests??)), its too much attention and i generally do not enjoy big events. Ive felt like a stuck up stubborn little kid everytime i argue with my family over it or turn down the offer because not only does it kind of makes my family look bad (not posting bday pics bc i dont enjoy my birthday, people thinking they deliberately do not celebrate me while they do,etc) but also i get why its an important and nice thing to celebrate. The situation isnt set in stone yet but i genuinelly feel like the asshole for constantly refusing and shutting down all ideas because im not even going to put it lightly, i am way too stubborn and stuck on my refusal which from an outside pov genuinelly looks real shitty.

I genuinelly just want to know if i DO sound even more assholeish to people outside of this situation because if yes i might try to compromise something cause i AM aware its frustrating to my family and im being difficult (even if they never said it)
