Rental Kuala Lumpur

Tourism & Travel

Hi everyone, I'm an expat recently relocated to KL for work. I'm considering renting a 1-bedroom fully furnished unit at Residensi 38 Bangsar (700 sqft) for RM3,000/month.

The building is 2-3 minutes walk from Bangsar LRT and about 10 minutes walk to Bangsar Village. However:

- The immediate surroundings are quite run down (old shophouses, tin roofs), it doesn't feel like the Bangsar you'd expect at this price
- There is ongoing construction next door with Google reviews mentioning noise from 10:30pm to 5am
- Reviews also mention contractors accessing the pool and common areas
- The unit has been listed since early September and is still vacant
- On top of the RM3,000 rent, I have to pay all utilities and set up my own WiFi, so the real monthly cost is closer to RM3,400-3,500

Do you think RM3,500 all-in is a fair price for this location and these conditions? What would you consider reasonable?

Any current or former residents who can share their experience would be really helpful. Thanks!
