We own a flat (Shifting in under a year), where the society is denying me gym access.

Legal Advice Needed

I moved to Mumbai for my studies and currently reside with my maternal grandparents. My Nana owns a flat at a building which got redeveloped recently and now includes a gym. We are scheduled to move there in under a year. I’ve been using that gym at the other building for a few months now

The first incident arose when my Nani was shifting her things and the neighbour asked if anyone from her family is using the gym and she replied no. At this time my nana knew I was using the gym but my Nani didn’t. This led to a whole misunderstanding and after me and my Nani spoke to the secretary to prove I was her grandson it was cleared. However, they initially denied giving me access to the gym because I am not considered as their family. They consider the children of my nana nani and grandchildren of their sons as family. We told them our living situation and eventually when we do move here, we will be staying together too.

Apparently they had a society meeting to discuss this and a few days later they allowed me to use the gym. Fast forward a month later, they began installing cameras in the gym and now a fingerprint scanner. I was given an excuse for 2 days that the technician wasn’t there to register my fingerprint. I went last night and was told that I am no longer allowed to sue the gym and only members are. This was Apparantly discussed in a society meeting, the member while talking made a gesture that it was stamped for which I asked to see the document but they said I’m not allowed to see. Members according to them are permanent society members. This led to an argument which the secretary came over and raised his voice at me. At the end he clarified that I’m not considered as family which i repeatedly told him i don’t understand, how is my nana not considered my family.

They have 2 contradictory statements, one where I cannot use it since Im not a permanent member and other where my grandparents and their children could use it even though they wouldn’t be a member. I’m not sure if I have a case here, can the society make their own guidelines like this and if by law I can say that i do count as my nanas family then legally I should be able to use the gym.

About the gym, barely 5 people use it and whenever i go, it’s always empty and just me who uses it. I keep the equipment maintained and clean up after myself. The gym isn’t remarkable or anything, I just go to save my grandparents money.
