Locating Family/private investigator?

Hi everyone,

I’m wondering if anyone knows of private investigators that won't scam us in Bosnia who specialise in locating people confirming if alive or dead, or if there are any other services or ways to help with this.

I have some details and general information, but I’m not really sure where to start.

I don’t currently live in BiH, but I was born there and moved to the US when I was a child. There are some family members I’ve lost contact with and would really like to try to locate or find out more about. Unfortunately, contact has been lost over the years and I’m now trying to find relatives I have in Bosnia.

Has anyone been through something similar or had any experience with private investigators, lawyers, archives, or other ways of finding family members in BiH?

Are there any online websites that confirm deaths that public can access?

Any advice, recommendations or personal experiences would be really appreciated.
